German Wirehaired Pointer

A couple of weeks ago, we got a new family member. A little German Wirehaired Pointer, 1,5 years old and a bit jumpy and shy. She has been trained for hunting and we will hopefully get to try that out in not too long.

She is really well behaved and can be without a leash when we are outdoors. Quite different from the Sausage, who runs away as soon as she has an opportunity. Which she did at the cabin. She was away for hours and when I went out looking for her, she was finally on her way back. On a snowmobile!Someone had found her running around alone. Luckily they knew she belongs to me, so I was quite relieved. But also embarassed, as it is not the first time someone has had to return her... Probably not the last one either! Hopefully, she will not teach all her bad behaviour to the newcomer.

I was a bit nervous to how the Sausage would react to a little sister twice the size of her, but that went surprisingly well! The Sausage is not the most social towards other dogs, but she seems to realize that the new one is here to stay, so I think she has accepted it.

And her alias for the blog? The Beard, of course... :-)

Bedre med is i skjegget enn is i rubben!
